The Kronplatz/Plan de Corones (2.275 m) – crowned “Best Ski Resort” in Italy
A recent study conducted by Mountain Management has crowned Kronplatz/Plan de Corones the best resort in all of Italy.
The Konplatz is not only the number one ski resort in South Tyrol – it also ranks first in Italy!
The Black Five
Kronplatz is one of only few skiing resorts in the Alps which boast 5 black slopes: Sylvester, Herrnegg, Pre da Peres, Erta and Piculin.
The Black Five are not for the faint-hearted. Face up to the challenge of a lifetime!
The modern lift pass system literally “opens doors” – high-tech chip cards gives you the automatic access through all turnstiles. Information about the prices you find on www.kronplatz.com/skipass
Modern and easy – Book your ski equipment before your arrival at our partner rental Rent and Go, which is located directly at the valley station Gassl.

We have about 40 huts. That’s right, forty of them – rustic stuben (typical Tyrolean parlours), trendy bars and sun-drenched terraces. You have to be damn-well organised to get to see them all! And we also wish you stamina as well as stability at the bars!
Start directly from the hotel for the most beautiful ski tours:
Sella Ronda: the skitour of the four Dolomite Passes around the Sella massif, one of the most spectacular of the world.
From the valley station Valdaora/Gassl you can reach S. Vigilio and there, crossing the top of the Piz de Plaies, you reach Piculin. Hop from Kronplatz/Plan de Corones across into the Sella Ronda? No problem at all. Our skibus shuttle takes you straight from the Piculin cable car valley station to Sompunt (Sponata) in Alta Badia, with services running every 20 minutes. From there it should take you roughly an hour to reach Corvara where you can begin skiing the Sella Ronda – either clockwise (orange route) or anti-clockwise (green route).
Our hotel is starting point for a lot of famous ski tours in the Dolomites:
Round of the Dolomites of Sesto crossing the 5 mountains (Elmo, Croda Rosa, Passo Croce, Val Comelico, Baranci)
